)(born 14 December, 1934 in Alwal,
Secunderabad, then a British Cantonment) is a prolific Indian
director. Benegal originated what has come to be called "middle
cinema". He graduated from Osmania University. Films directed by
Shyam Benegal. Best works of Mr.Benegal are listed below and Bharat Ek Khoj according to me is the BEST TV serial till date on History Of India.
